My products are made in Mongolia. Because Mongolian yaks live in mountainous regions, they must cope with extreme weather conditions ranging from -30°C to -50°C. Therefore, yak wool is heat-retaining, temperature-regulating, and breathable. These horned animals, weighing up to 500 kg, impress with their massive bodies and calm, sociable temperament. Approximately 300 grams of hair can be combed from a single yak per year and processed into yak yarn. Furthermore, yak wool is a natural product that can be produced in an environmentally friendly way and is 100% organic.
Traditional herding in Mongolia does not require stalls. Nomadic life revolves around the herd animals and their well-being. After winter, the animals’ wool is combed by individual herders and transported to weaving workshops for further processing.
